Restricting an 883

My girlfriend has an XL883L sportster. She's done her CBT and passed on a 125. I know this restricts her to 33HP for two years or she has to sit a test on a bigger bike. My question is can she fit a restrictor to her bike to comply with the 33HP and if so where will she get the restrictor from?

Hey AllyM...do you want the good news or the good news? If your Girlfriend has passed the restricted full test she wont need to restrict the power of the 883 even tho it has 49BHP. There are 2 rules to the restriction. The bike has to be either under 33BHP or have a power to weight ratio equal to or less than 0.16kw/Kg. As the 883's 49BHP convert to 36.5393KW and the bike weighs 251Kg the power to weight ratio = 36.5393/251 = 0.1455/Kg....so get it on the road and Enjoy!!!!....the only reason I found this out was because I was planning to go the restricted route cause i thot it'd be cheaper...but I decided just to do the DAS course instead....got my Test on Monday!!!!!
