Just a thought, but perhaps there could be a section on this site where we post a comment on good/bad service we have received as bikers at various eating/drinking establishments..??

The reason I say this is that I have just done a search for pubs in Pitlochry for the May sunday Rideout Lunch, and all of the reviews would have me go elsewhere..!!

I know that there are some excellent places out there and we should maybe share this information between us.

I guess this is one for you to think about RamDez.

Never mind - you know you can count on me to create extra work for you Dez...!!!:D

That's good to know.

The Old Mill Inn, just across from Brodie Country Fare on the A96. Monday night Steak Night - 2 steaks for £16. We had a great Sunday Dinner there too. However, if like me you are a Veggie - Ask the Waiting Staff what they can prepare for you and you will get a great feed (mushroom and pasta dish for me), otherwise you have to choose from the 2 "poncy" and "small" Veggie items on the menu. Not the cheapest bar menu, but certainly the best meal on that stretch of road.

If you're ever coming into Perth from the Crieff side on the A85, The Glover Arms does a great meal for around seven quid - been there many a time day and night, always good.
Reasonable range of lagers and ales as well as a great New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from the wooden cask behind the counter !!
Ride Safe & Enjoy

Have you got a slate there Mike, as a meal and a nice wee drink would be even better getting it for free :D

The Red Garth Hotel in Oldmeldrum has always made us Hognorth guys welcome. Beer wise it has several CAMRA awards, food wise is fine if possibly a little on the high side on price for me.

I used to walk over the Ochils to it when i were just a lad, and it was our local bike meet point, in the days when the Gents was outside, and challenging in the winter. We had our Classic Spring Gathering there for the past few years, and it was a good coffee stop too, but now it's been taken over by Roger McKie, and become one of their An Lochan subsidiaries of Weegieland, we're no longer welcome. The ba5tards even ripped the bar out...:mad::mad:

Our Country Inn, offering delicious locally sourced food and the warmest of welcomes (except to bikers and other people who might actually want to use an old coaching Inn as a coaching Inn) in the depths of the Perthshire countryside, yet only an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh...

Bitter? Moi?

Aye, the roaring fire was great to get warm on a cold days riding, feckers have taken that out as well, Jack had a great trade and a terrific manner with folk, hence he built a great business. My folks used to go up there regularly and used to meet a load of folk who came down from Gleneagles for a real taste of Scotland, no now its no
