Hey RamDez,
I don't have one, but over the past while I have been speaking with a salesman with a view to buying one.
He talks a good talk about all of the functions, how you can use it with your gloves on, how it doesn't mind snow, freezing temperatures etc., but I remain unconvinced about the need to go for an expensive Motorcycle SatNav. (Having said that, it was £384 when I first started looking into it, and now it is only £269.99) - link = http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TomTom-RIDER-Motorcycle-Sat-Nav-GPS-UK- (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TomTom-RIDER-Motorcycle-Sat-Nav-GPS-UK-ROI-Mappin_W0QQitemZ220201842025QQihZ012QQcategoryZ156 955QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

My mate has a perfectly acceptable SatNav in his car which was about £80. OK, so the TomTom Rider 2 will cope with any weather, but how often do you ride in bad weather, and how often are you "lost".
Maybe I don't have enough money to be a Harley Rider :o, but I just can't bring myself to part with all those bucks for a TomTom Rider 2. :D
However, I, like you, look forward to the views of anyone who has purchased one. I'm going to Spain in July and would definitely like to take some sort of SatNav with me, so any comments about any of the SatNavs would also be appreciated.

I am told it also links into your mobile phone as well :) no escape LOL. I am thinking about one because my Honda sat nav disc is out of date and they want £230 for a new disc. Sod that, so I was thinking two birds, one stone :)

Hi, I got a TomTom Rider one I've had for a couple of years and it does exactly what it says on the box although the bluetooth phone link suffers in high speed high noise conditions.
Ive got the Rider bluetooth through my Autocom intercom and the phone on the hardwire through the intercom and works perfectly. Also got a TomTom in the car and it works with the same maps and very well. All in all I'm pretty happy with its performance. The Rider two car mount has a built in speaker and works pretty good from what I've seen as well

Hi Dez, like the Colonel I have the old steam driven Rider One, it got us around Europe fine and pulled us tho' the tunnels of Madrid, roads change and the rider one maps are a bit dated but it got me where we were going.I think the 2 has more functions and is better. A few folk have the Garmin Quest, you can plan your route on the comp. then download to the unit, not able to do that on mine. Journyman got a satnag (oops that Irene) a few weeks ago, I think that was a Garmin, drop him a line for his opinion, See ya oot on the road soon,G.

Hi George, Have you updated to the latest software for your tomtom one ? Updating gives most of the same functions as the two. I think the major difference for the two is the built in speaker facility in the car mount, the tomtom one needs to be paired with a bluetooth handsfree kit or headset.

got mine today and hard wired it to the bike.
comes with a very good RAM mount for the bike and a handy car mount as well.

Hi, Bought the tom tom rider 2 at Christmas, not tried it out on the bike yet, but seems fine in the car. Only problem is the volume on the speaker, difficult to hear at times.

Hi again Dez, I'm still waiting on my "batwing" front fairing coming back from the painters so the bikes never left its box, should get it next time home. When we went to Spain to the rally there were 4 bikes with three satnavs and all gave different routes to the same destination! Handy bits of kit all the same, you'll learn that shortest route and fastested route can be a lot different, so its not perfect, I still carry the old map in me bag.
Nice looking Ram on yer front fender, where did you come by that, do they do anything else, looking for something meself, see ya, George.

George, was sent the Ram from America as a prezzy :) its meant for a old Dodge Ram saloon car and in fact, if anyone has seen the film "no country for old men" then they will recognise it as it was featured for about 2 minutes as the killer cruises around town.
Had to mod it a bit to fit the king but its on and I think it looks the biz. I have it sitting forward in a ramming position.
I had bought a cool hog to fit on the front but Big Linz suggested I look around and find a Ram. I'm glad I listened to him ...... this time ;)
Speaking to a few guys and the rider 2 seems to be heading for same mount contact issues that the rider 1 ended up with - poor show if thats the case.
My patented fix is working fine by the way!

Can you stick a normal Satnav in a wee polythene bag?
Satnav can certainly be useful if you have to be at a certain place by a certain time. I gave the girlfriend one as a gift but ain't used it myself. I quite like getting lost or taking the wrong road now and then.
For example if I hadn't taken a right instead of a left on a road in Arizona I'd never have stopped at the Anasazi Inn Restaurant and sampled the Navajo mutton stew and fry bread which was superb.
Mind youif I'd had one I wouldn't have ridden around Lille for an hour trying to find the way to Zeebrugge

I do too......:p......some of the best roads/rest stops can be found that way.
Actually think I'll do without a SatNav for a bit longer. I was going to say I navigate by the SUN, but in Scotland that's a bit of an impossibility. (Actually sun shining just now - but then it would be 'coz we are all at work..!!)

not had any problems so far, whats the problem?
Basically unit stops charging on bike due to the pins on the back wearing, caused by loose fitting....thought it would be resolved with ttr2 but apparently not

Changing the subject matter just a little..... I have the "Garmin Zumo 550" and it seems to do the job nicely. It has that "Bluetooth" thing for your phone and it also speeks to you through your Bluetooth helmet. It comes with UK an Euro maps, aint used the Euro maps yet but we will remedy that when we head off to the south of France next month. The car and bike mounts seem to be sturdy enough but only time will tell. ;);)
