just looking through the makro mail promo and they are selling bike stands for£39.99 plus vat seems a good price paid £90 for mine

Sounds cheap Gordon, but be careful.
A lot of the less expensive ones either don't have the load capacity for a Harley (you need 500kg as a rule, to give a good safety margin) and many of them don't go down low enough to fit under the frame rails, even of stock bikes. The Americana one had to be redesigned, after they showed it with a Road King on top, and people who bought it found you couldn't get it underneath a stock Road King. Later ones OK they say.
Do you have a link or a pic or spec. of the one you're talking about?

372kg unladen weight for an Ultra, so doesn't leave much in hand...:eek:
How about this - make your own lift for cleaning and maintenance with a few bits of wood and steel: :cool:

There's a couple of companies doing ready-made ones of this lever action type, but making your own for a few bucks would be satisfying...
