Hi just fitted new big growl pipes on my sporty S , but forgot no heat sheilds Duh! any ideas on how to remove a little bit of melted trouser leg!!!! its not a lot but enough. Next purchase a set of forward controls.:o

Hi Andy, had the same problem and I got it off with AutoGlym tar remover once the pipes were cold, wash and polish afterwards and it looks like new! Hope this helps.

Hi Stuart - been there, done that, burnt the 'T' shirt or in this case, the trouser leg !!................ wait 'til the bike is really cold, then get hold of one of those wee triangular blades that fit in a Stanley knife - take the blade on it's own, hold it at a really acute angle so as not to dig into the chrome and then just 'tickle' the hardened material off - did this when my daughter burnt the heel of her boot when riding pillion one day. Finish up as Stuarty says in his note and it'll be good as new. See ya. Ride Safe and Enjoy. Mike T

[Hi MikeT just to let you know the stanley blade trick worked a treat then a wee buff with some autoglym , good as new !:D

if any one else gets this problem in the
future get some bronse wool works a treat
